Pair Vintage Japanese Soko China Satsuma Vases Hand Painted Gilt Maple Birds

Exquisite pair of vintage Japanese Satsuma-style vases by Soko China, hand-painted with intricate maple leaf and pheasant scenes in autumnal tones with delicate raised gold detailing. These 18 cm tall vases feature traditional red and gold borders and fine crackle glaze typical of early Showa period export ware. A beautiful example of Japanese craftsmanship, ideal for collectors of Satsuma revival porcelain. One vase has a small area of gilt wear and surface damage to the base (see close-up photo), not visible when displayed upright.
