Vintage Japanese Satsuma-Style Plate by Ikko, Gilt Geisha Scene, c. 1930s

A beautifully hand-painted Japanese porcelain plate featuring a procession of geisha in a riverfront landscape, framed by an ornate phoenix motif in raised gold enamel. The rim is richly decorated with moriage and detailed brushwork. Signed in gilt with the mark 一光 (Ikko) on a red cartouche to the base. A fine example of early Showa-era decorative Satsuma-style export ware, retaining excellent detail and colour.
